MESA, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team took on Grand Canyon in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Championship. A victory in the singles match clinched the 4-2 win for the Aggies over the Lopes. The victory moves the Crimson & White ahead for a rematch of last year's championship against UMKC.
Grand Canyon struck first taking the doubles point to open the day. The Aggies fell in the doubles matches 6-1 and then 6-3 to give GCU the first point of the semifinal contest.
The Lopes then jumped out to a 2-0 lead then with the first win in singles.
