NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The struggling New Mexico State men’s basketball team (7-8, 0-3) scored a season-low in points Wednesday in a 69-60 loss at Western Athletic Conference opponent Stephen F. Austin (11-5, 3-0).
Other, than the pandemic-impacted all-road games season of 2020-21, this is the first three-game league losing streak for the Aggies (7-8, 0-3) since 2010-11.
“Nobody in that locker room has given up and no one in that locker room is going to give up,” said first-year NMSU coach Greg Heiar.
Guard Xavier Pinson scored 20 points to lead the Aggies, who trailed for 37 of the game’s 40 minutes.
