TYLER, TEXAS – New Mexico State redshirt sophomore quarterback Josh Adkins has earned honorable-mention recognition for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award following his historic six-touchdown effort against in-state rival New Mexico last weekend. The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week and Honorable Mention List was released Tuesday by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler.
Adkins, the Spring Branch, Texas, native, accounted for six total touchdowns in the Aggies' 55-52 loss to New Mexico Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M.. He completed 30-of-47 passes for 335 yards and threw for three touchdowns, linking up with graduate transfer wideout Tony Nicholson twice and senior halfback Jason Huntley once.
