Women's soccer: Olguin named First Team All-Mountain West member

New Mexico forward Madisyn Olguin earned a spot on the First Team All-Mountain Mountain West, the conference announced Tuesday.

Olguin finished the regular season with six goals, including five in conference play, to lead all Lobo scorers. She is the first UNM player on the first team since Rachel Montoya in 2012, and the first Lobo forward since Jen Williams in 2011, according to a UNM release.

Also, UNM goalkeeper Cassie Ulrich and midfielder Maddie Irwin were named to second team all-conference, while defenders Dylann O'Connor and Emily Chavez received honorable mention.

The 12 conference coaches selected Colorado College's Sarah Schweiss as offensive player of the year, San Jose State's Zoe Makrigiannis as defensive player of the year, San Diego State's Leah Pruitt as freshman of the year, and SDSU's Lauren Hanson as coach of the year.
