LAS CRUCES — The New Mexico women’s soccer team earned its first victory in three matches under first-year head coach Heather Dyche, defeating host New Mexico State 1-0 on
Wednesday at NMSU’s soccer complex.
Madisyn Olguin, a fifth-year senior from Perris, Calif., scored the match’s lone goal, unassisted from inside the box, in a one-on-one with goalkeeper Rian Nials, in the 47th minute.
Cassie Ulrich needed to make only one save for the shutout, the 14th of her career, as 1-2 New Mexico outshot the 0-2 Aggies 16-3.
“It feels really good, but honestly the credit goes to them,” Dyche said of her players.
