Women's Basketball: Shumpert heads to Greece to chase professional dreams

Former Lobo Khadijah Shumpert’s collegiate career may have come to a close, but her playing days far from over.

After signing a contract with the Panathlitikos Sykeon in Thessaloniki, Greece, she will be the second Lobo in as many years to take a plunge overseas to pursue a career in basketball, across the Atlantic.

Shooting guard Antiesha Brown signed with Milan's Paddy Power Sesto San Giovanni in Milan, Italy, in 2015.

Shumpert’s senior season was highlighted by her 14.8 points per contest and six boards per contest, both team highs.

According to a UNM release, Shumpert is not the first Lobo to play in Greece.
