ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s the kind of game that sends coaches running for antacids.
The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team visits the United States Air Force Academy tonight for what has to be considered a should-win game. UNM comes in 10-7 overall, 3-3 in Mountain West play, while the last-place Falcons are 0-18, 0-7.
Nearly all the individual matchups and statistics favor New Mexico, which leads the all-time series 36-2. Air Force averages 47 points per game and has reached 60 just once all season.
Surely, the Lobos will take care of business and build momentum for Saturday’s home battle with Boise State, right?
