A weekend visit to Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico didn’t feel like official business for Sammie Woodward.
The 5-foot-7 point guard from Racine, Wis., took a ride up the Sandia Peak Tramway, took part in a scavenger hunt and enjoyed much warmer weather than she’d been experiencing back home.
“We’re on vacation,” Woodward’s mother, Lisa, said of her daughter’s official campus visit.
A little official business got done Saturday afternoon as Sammie Woodward committed to play women’s basketball for UNM beginning in 2016-17. She announced her commitment on Twitter, shortly after concluding a campus tour.
