It took a little longer than usual for the New Mexico men’s soccer team to pick up its first win of the season and when it came Sunday, the Lobos had Chris Wehan to thank for it.
Wehan scored two second-half goals, helping UNM erase a 1-0 halftime deficit as the Lobos beat No. 19 UC Santa Barbara 2-1. He had all four New Mexico goals in the Grange & Ashwill Memorial Tournament.
“We’ve been waiting for this for awhile, third game in,” said midfielder Matt Dorsey, who assisted on the game-winning goal. “We weren’t really happy with the results of the first two games.
