ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — With an ordained minister and two kids named Emmanuel in his 2016 recruiting class, one might think Bob Davie is looking for a break from the man upstairs on Saturdays this fall.
But Davie also knows the old saying about those who help themselves. The coach of the Lobos believes he and his staff have done just that with the 21 players they’ve signed to attend UNM and play football for the Lobos.
The recruiting victories, he said Wednesday, as well as the losses, came against better competition than ever before.
“We all know the proof is going to come out months, years down the road,” Davie said at a news conference.
