University of New Mexico junior Riley Egloff, the Lobos’ Friday ace, has been named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
It’s Egloff’s first weekly conference award after he set a new career high with eight innings pitched and nine strikeouts against Wichita State on Friday.
The Littleton, Colorado, native held the Shockers scoreless on four hits and walked a career-low three batters.
Egloff is 4-0 in five starts this season with a 1.80 ERA.
This is the second straight week a Lobo has earned a weekly conference award, as Lenny Junior Ashby was named MW Player of the Week March 14.
