2017-18 Mountain West Scholar-Athletes The MW Scholar-Athlete award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- For a seventh consecutive season, the New Mexico Lobos picked up more Mountain West Scholar-Athletes than any other conference school. The Lobos have led the league each year since the 2011-12 academic year. Utah State finished second with 115 honorees.
