UNM student-athletes set new highs in the classroom

In two straight semesters, New Mexico athletes have broken GPA records in the classroom. According to a UNM release, the Lobos have broken the record three times in the past five semesters.

The 3.31 mark achieved by student athletes in the spring of 2016 just edged out the then-record 3.30 plateau reached in the fall of 2015.

Three sports set program records the past semester. Along with a Mountain West championship season, baseball put together a 3.26 GPA, the best since the 3.21 mark set in the fall of 2013. Chris DeVito and Alex Estrella both led the pack with their CoSIDA Academic All-American status.
