Damien Jefferson, a 6-foot-5 high school senior from East Chicago, Ind., gave a verbal commitment on Saturday night to play for the UNM Lobos next season.
The small forward, who is in Albuquerque this weekend on an official recruiting visit, is the son of former Lobo Everett Jefferson, who was a starting guard for the Lobos in 1979 and 1980, leading the team in steals and assists his second season.
Jefferson told Brian Snow of Scout.com, “It was the coaches, the team, and the atmosphere here. I just love everything out here so I knew it was the right place for me.
