The University of New Mexico football team practiced Thursday morning under a typically blue Albuquerque sky.
That sky, say coaches Bob Davie, Kevin Cosgrove and Bob DeBesse, is not falling.
As the Lobos (3-3 overall, 1-1 in Mountain West Conference play) prepare for Saturday’s homecoming game against Hawaii (2-4, 0-2), they’re seeking to apply lessons learned from a 35-17 drubbing absorbed last week at Nevada – and at the same time shake off any lingering effects.
“Disappointing, because (there were) high hopes,” said DeBesse, UNM’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. “To know that you didn’t play maybe as good as you think you can play.
