ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Devanne Sours had a career-high 22 kills and three Lobos registered career-best digs, but the New Mexico volleyball team couldn't prevail in a tightly contested five-set match versus LSU Saturday night at WisePies Arena aka The Pit.
Despite outperforming LSU (4-7) in a number of key statistical categories in front of an announced crowd of 3,267 fans, errors and inconsistency across the board plagued the Lobos (7-5) as they finished second in the Days Inn and Suites Lobo Invitational.
"Our heads lost that game," New Mexico head coach Jeff Nelson said.
