UNM baseball swamps Hawaii

HONOLULU — Dalton Bowers led an 18-hit attack with five hits as the New Mexico Lobos baseball team rocked Hawaii 18-0 in the third game of their four-game, season-opening series.

It was the worst home loss in Hawaii program history.

But, while he appreciated the hitting and UNM’s approach at the plate, Lobos coach Ray Birmingham was most impressed with his pitchers.

Senior left-hander Colton Thomson allowed two hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out five. Freshman reliever Austin Isenhart gave up two hits in three innings with four strikeouts and no walks.
