ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Craig Neal has a pretty good idea of what NBA talent looks like.
Long before he was the head coach of the University of New Mexico, where he’s coached or been associate head coach of several Lobos who went on to don NBA uniforms, he was an NBA scout and assistant after a brief stint as a player.
So when he pops in game film of in-state foe New Mexico State, he knows what he sees in 6-foot-9 sophomore forward Pascal Siakam.
“Yeah, I think he’d have a chance,” Neal said of Siakam’s chances to play in the NBA.
