The University of New Mexico swimmers won 13 of 14 events Saturday morning against the visiting Northern Colorado Bears to win their dual meet 203.5-96.5. Freshman Adriana Palomino repeated her three-win day from last week, and Kaela McKee won both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events to pace UNM.
“This week we trained really hard,” UNM head coach Kunio Kono said. “A lot of girls stepped up from last week and we had a big improvement.”
The UNM swimmers’ only loss came in the 200 breaststroke by less than half a second.
