ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A day after dropping a tough-luck pitcher's duel to San Diego State on Friday night, the University of New Mexico baseball team ended up on the down side of a lopsided offensive day as SDSU scored 19 runs on 20 hits en route to a 19-3 win on Saturday afternoon at Santa Ana Star Field.
The offensive outburst by the Aztecs (13-8, 4-2 MW) began from the outset of the game as they plated two runs in the top of the first. Both runs were unearned, but the damage done in that inning proved to be too much to overcome as the Aztecs would go on to score at least one run in each of the first six innings.
