DALLAS – It wasn’t quite the 40-minute effort Lobos coach Yvonne Sanchez was looking for, but close enough.
Jaisa Nunn scored a game-high 14 points and helped spark a third-quarter rally that lifted the UNM women’s basketball team to a 63-58 victory over SMU at Moody Coliseum on Saturday.
The Lobos trailed 32-30 at halftime but outscored the Mustangs 19-8 in the third quarter and led the rest of the way. Nunn, who was 7-for-8 from the field and had a team-best six rebounds, scored six points during the pivotal third quarter.
“I actually got on Jaisa a little bit,” Sanchez said in a postgame phone interview, “then I looked at the stat sheet.
