No set formula for QB rotation

There are no preseason games in college football.

No matter how heavy a favorite the New Mexico Lobos might be in Saturday’s season opener against Mississippi Valley State, the game is still one-twelfth, that’s 8.3 percent, of the Lobos’ 2015 season.

Whoever the opponent might be, that’s not a percentage to be trifled with. Thus, when deciding how much No. 1 quarterback Lamar Jordan will play Saturday, and when and for how long No. 2 QB Austin Apodaca will get in the game, there’s no script.

“We’re still kind of working through that,” Lobos coach Bob Davie said Tuesday at UNM’s first fall sports luncheon of the year.
