ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- New Mexico forward Tim Williams scored 22 points with seven rebounds and the Lobos turned in a strong defensive effort Wednesday in a 75-51 win over Loyola-Chicago .
The Lobos (3-0), who never trailed, broke it open early with an 11-0 run, turning a 4-all tie into a 15-4 lead. Loyola (2-1) never got closer than nine points the rest of the way.
Williams had two layups in the streak and Sam Logwood, who was perfect from the field to finish with 12 points, capped it with a 3-pointer.
The Ramblers were 19-60 from the field, including 7 of 28 in the first half as New Mexico had them doubled up at 38-19 at halftime.
