It’s not exactly the kind of start to the Conference USA season that the nationally ranked New Mexico men’s soccer team expected.
A deflating 1-0 loss Sunday to Kentucky with 1:23 left in the second overtime left the No. 21 Lobos still seeking their first conference triumph of the season.
“That’s a tough one,” UNM coach Jeremy Fishbein sad. “That’s a big loss. We’re chasing it again. We’ll see what we’re about.”
The Lobos’ first-half issues, somewhat forgotten after a dominating performance over a struggling San Francisco squad on Wednesday, surfaced again Sunday.
“The first half, we really didn’t come out well,” Fishbein said.
