After Thursday’s loss, the Lobos regrouped to find success Friday afternoon, breaking a few records in the Wooden Legacy Tournament.
New Mexico (4-1) took down the Cal State Northridge Matadors (2-4), 105-89 on Friday. The 105 points by the Lobos set a single-game points record in the tournament, eclipsing the previous record of 99.
It was the first time the team scored 100 points in three years, a feat the Lobos achieved the feat by shooting nearly 65 percent from the field, also a new tournament record.
The team’s lead scorers, Tim Williams and Elijah Brown, each finished with 21 points.
