The first-place battle did not go too well for the Lobos, as they walked away with a 82-65 loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday afternoon.
"I didn't think we had the same edge that we have had previously on the road," UNM head coach Craig Neal said in a release. "It was a big atmosphere today, but I still feel good about where we are."
The Lobos’ record dropped to 13-9 overall and 6-4 in the Mountain West, while Nevada improved to 18-4 and 7-2 in conference play to maintain control of first place in the Mountain West standings.
