The Lobos can’t even protect their home anymore without their House.
For a second-consecutive game playing without senior guard Jaelen House, who has an injured hamstring, the Lobos looked outmatched, lethargic and lost in an embarrassing 70-56 defeat to last-place Wyoming on Tuesday in front of an announced Pit crowd of 11,185.
The loss is the fourth in a row and third in league play in the Pit for the free-falling Lobos (19-7, 6-7 Mountain West), now in sixth place in the conference standings, falling a game behind Friday’s road opponent San Jose State (7-6 MWC).
“Clearly, we’ve lost confidence,” Lobos coach Richard Pitino said.
