SAN JOSE, Calif. – The University of New Mexico women's basketball team secured its 20th win of the season on Wednesday night as the Lobos cruised past San José State for a 79-60 road victory inside The Event Center. It is the second-straight year that the Lobos have reached the 20-win mark and the 14th time overall in program history.
The outcome was rarely in doubt for the Lobos (20-3, 10-2 MW) on Wednesday night as they held a comfortable lead for a majority of the game. The Spartans (2-20, 1-10 MW) did hold a couple of marginal leads early in the game, but the largest advantage was a mere three points on a Megan Anderson three-pointer that opened scoring at the 8:59 mark of the first quarter.
