Last Sept. 20, coach Bob Davie walked out of Aggie Memorial Stadium with a victory – but with a certain level of embarrassment.
He hopes to leave University Stadium tonight with the former and not the latter.
Davie’s New Mexico Lobos (1-0) face Tulsa (1-0) and its no-huddle, up-tempo spread offense this evening. To a great extent, the game will be a yardstick of how far the UNM defense has come since that New Mexico State game in coping with that style of attack.
As of the close of business Friday, about 21,000 tickets had been sold for tonight’s game.
