Consider this one a Thanksgiving warm-up.
The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team scored an early knockout Tuesday night at the Pit, rolling to an 83-43 victory over Nicholls State at the Pit.
Bryce Owens scored a game-high 15 points and the Lobos (3-1) got 51 points from their bench in a rout of the short-handed Colonels (1-2). Thirteen players saw 11 minutes of action or more for the home team and all but one of them scored.
It was an ideal scenario for the Lobos, playing the second of four games in an eight-day stretch.
