The University of New Mexico fell to Colorado State 82-71 in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference women’s basketball tournament Wednesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
No. 6 see Colorado State advances to meet No. 1 seed UNLV in Wednesday’s 8 p.m. semifinal, to be televised on CBS Sports Network. The Rams controlled the entire game, leading UNM by two points at the half and by double digits for most of the second half.
Second-seeded UNM, which never led, now awaits options for postseason, but the Lobos are not considered contenders for an at-large NCAA Tournament bid.
