Sales are booming for the UNM women’s basketball team these days.
Recruiting sales, to be specific.
At a time of year when Lobo coaches typically are entertaining prospects on official campus visits, UNM’s Yvonne Sanchez and her staff are looking to the more distant future. The 2016 recruiting class was effectively filled by late August.
Sanchez, per NCAA rules, cannot comment on the members of that class, who have verbally committed but have not signed National Letters of Intent. The early signing period for basketball is Nov. 11-18.
Until letters start arriving, Sanchez can only say her program’s recruiting has come a long way since she took over as head coach in 2011.
