Lee Crosby played high school football in Baltimore, a major American city with a population of some 2.7 million in the greater metropolitan area.
He played junior college ball in Ephraim, a town of some 6,000 in central Utah.
When it came time to choose his next destination, Albuquerque — far bigger than Ephraim, far smaller than Baltimore — proved a perfect fit.
“I love it,” Crosby, the New Mexico Lobos’ starting nickel safety, said after Monday’s practice session. “It’s way different. It’s not a small town with one stoplight.”
And is the pace of life a bit more relaxing here than in Baltimore?
