Flashback: New Mexico hangs with Arizona State into the third quarter, but the Sun Devils hit their offensive stride in the second half while containing the UNM triple option. The Lobos fall, 34-10, in front of a crowd announced at 43,310 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
What went right: The New Mexico defense certainly was stouter against ASU than the previous week in a 40-21 loss to Tulsa, holding the Sun Devils scoreless for the game’s first 18 minutes and without a touchdown for the first 29. The UNM offense got a 65-yard touchdown run from redshirt freshman running back Tyrone Owens.
