University of New Mexico forward Devon Williams was diagnosed with a cervical spinal cord contusion suffered during his team’s 83-74 road win over New Mexico State.
He was laying face down on the court for several minutes before being immobilized and wheeled off the court on a stretcher and taken to a Las Cruces hospital, where he stayed overnight, but did have movement in all his extremities and was able to get up and walk around on Monday.
He sent out a thank you to fans via his Twitter account on Monday morning: “Thank you everyone for your concerns and keeping me in your prayers, it really means a lot to me.
