When University of New Mexico defensive coordinator Rocky Long talks about the Lobo linebackers, he describes one who has NFL potential.
That’s nothing to gloss over because of Long’s eye for defensive talent during his 42 years of coaching.
That one linebacker is senior Reco Hannah, who is humbled by the compliment but would rather just talk about playing hard and wanting the Lobos to win the Mountain West Conference championship this season.
Long says Hannah has the “chance to be an NFL linebacker or strong safety.”
“He’s not only good enough, he’s fast enough,” said Long, the former UNM quarterback and head coach and San Diego State head coach.
