Flashback: New Mexico, never challenged by a weak, lower-division Mississippi Valley State team, cruises to a 66-0 victory Saturday at University Stadium in the Lobos’ 2015 season opener. A rain-soaked crowd announced at 21,930 watches the Lobos have their way all evening.
What went right: Almost everything. Offensively, UNM rushed for 360 yards and passed for 151 more. Quarterback Lamar Jordan was the picture of efficiency, completing all seven of his passes and rushing five times for a 12.4-yard average and a touchdown. The defense recorded six sacks, 13 tackles for loss and got into the scoring column on 32-yard touchdown interception return by Travis Green.
