Lobo football: Handful of plays doom New Mexico

With no room for argument, San Jose State was the better team on the synthetic turf of Spartan Stadium on Saturday.

The New Mexico Lobos were out-rushed, out-passed, out-blocked and out-tackled in a 31-21 loss to SJSU in a Mountain West Conference football game. The game on the field was not as competitive as the final score suggests.

Yet, that final score also suggests that, had the Lobos executed better on just a few plays, they might have left San Jose with a 5-3 season record (instead of 4-4) and a Mountain West record of 3-1 (instead of 2-2).
