Lobo baseball sweeps San Jose State

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A little early frustration only served to fuel Colton Thomson’s fire Sunday afternoon.

Thomson shook off a first-inning fielding error and pitched shutout baseball into the ninth to help the University of New Mexico baseball team to an 11-1 win over San Jose State at Santa Ana Star Field. The Lobos (13-6, 5-1 Mountain West) swept the three-game series and have won seven of their last eight games.

Thomson (2-1) left after issuing a leadoff walk in the ninth inning and was ultimately charged with one run on four hits, walking two and striking out four in eight-plus innings.
