EUGENE, Ore. — Josh Kerr, a junior on the University of New Mexico track & field team, placed third and earned All-American honors in the 1,500-meter run on Friday as the Lobos closed out men's portion of the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The 2017 champion in the event, Kerr clocked a time of 3 minutes, 45.02 seconds at Hayward Field in Eugene as his patented bell-lap kick fell just short at the line. Kerr finished exactly a quarter of a second behind Wisconsin's Oliver Hoare, who won in 3:44.
