For the second straight week, the University of New Mexico failed to capitalize on a big, early lead and lost to Wyoming, 27-14, in front of an announced crowd of 14,226 Saturday night at University Stadium.
UNM jumped out to a 14-0 lead against the Cowboys (4-3, 2-1 Mountain West), much similar to last week when the Lobos built a 17-0 lead only to lose to UNLV 31-20. New Mexico (2-4, 0-3 MW) suffered its third straight loss. The Lobos started from their own 1 after with just under three minutes left. UNM quarterback Miles Kendrick later threw a pick-six with 69 seconds left when Wyoming’s Cam Stone ran back an interception for 38 yards.
