SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Here are more notes, quotes, stats, tweets and whatever other odds & ends I managed to empty out of the old notebook after Saturday’s 76-67 Lobos win over No. 23 San Diego State in Viejas Arena:
Best 1-2 punch in the league…
The Lobos aren’t 16-2 right now and coming off a second huge road win — a Quad 1 road win in the eyes of the NCAA Selection Committee — without the additions of the big transfers, Morris Udeze and Josiah Allick.
Those two closed the gap on the rest of the league in terms of physicality and toughness — something the shorthanded Lobos of a season ago (down three centers) simply couldn’t overcome.
