ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A day after Justin Slaten was drafted in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft, the University of New Mexico baseball team added two more draftees as seniors Malachi Emond and Jared Mang were both picked in the 18th round on Wednesday.
Emond, the Lobos' closer this past season, was taken by the Baltimore Orioles with the 528th overall pick in the draft. Four picks later, Mang was selected by the Detroit Tigers with the 532nd overall pick. With three total players being drafted, the Lobos have now had 17 years all-time with at least three players drafted.
