COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of New Mexico women's soccer junior goalkeeper Emily Johnson has been named as the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week as it was announced by the league office on Monday.

Johnson, a native of Western Springs, Ill., earned the first conference weekly honor of her career after she played every minute in goal this weekend and helped guide the Lobos to a 2-0-0 weekend. On Friday night against Air Force, Johnson notched her first solo shutout of the season as she stopped both of the Falcons' shots on goal en route to the clean sheet.
