Davie, staff planning to stick with Jordan at QB

The townsfolk are not storming the castle with pitchforks, demanding that coach Bob Davie make a change at quarterback – not yet, any way.

Even if they were, they wouldn’t get past the moat that Davie has constructed around himself and his University of New Mexico football program.

We’re speaking figuratively, of course. There’s no moat and no castle, and one would hope, no pitchforks.

There is, however, on talk radio, fan-site message boards and the Journal ‘s Sports Speakup! column, growing support for junior quarterback Austin Apodaca vs. sophomore starter Lamar Jordan.

The Lobos had a similar situation last year, when many fans were clamoring for Jordan to start ahead of incumbent starter Cole Gautsche.
