ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Head coach Bob Davie has announced that Albuquerque native Andrew Shelley, a kicker from Eldorado High School, and California native Johnny Hernandez, a safety from Temecula, have been placed on scholarship. They become the 17th and 18th former walk-ons placed on scholarship, and Shelley is now the 12th New Mexico native to earn a scholarship.
Shelley redshirted in 2017, and he won the starting placekicker battle in Fall camp. He is 20-for-22 on extra points this season, and he has attempted one field goal, a 38-yarder that he made against Liberty.
