ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Elijah Brown scored 21 points and Tim Williams added 16 Saturday to help New Mexico break a mini slump with a 74-58 win over San Jose State.
The Lobos (15-10, 8-4 Mountain West) had lost the previous two games while the Spartans (8-17, 3-10) had won their last two.
But New Mexico took the lead for good with 5:25 left in the first half on Brown's weaving drive through the lane that started a 12-0 run to put the Lobos up 35-24. San Jose State would get no closer than 42-36 the rest of the way.
