UNM failed to win its Rio Grande Rivalry matchup Saturday evening, losing to New Mexico State 32-21 and ending its run of consecutive victories over the in-state rival Aggies at four.
After holding the Aggies to just three points in the first quarter, the Lobos defense faltered down the stretch as they were outscored 29-15 over the next three periods.
Lobos running back had two touchdowns for the Lobos as part of a 221-yard ground attack. They had 115 passing yards compared to 205 for NMSU. Quarterback Tyler Rogers threw two touchdowns for the Aggies, including the game-winner to Gregory Hogan for the win.
