IRVING, Texas - University of New Mexico sophomore goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in UNM's match at top-ranked UCLA on Saturday. It is the first such honor in his career.
Despite dropping the match 1-0, Beaulieu did everything he could to keep the Lobos in the game against the high-powered attack of the Bruins. He was forced to make his first save five minutes in, and he finished with six total, which was the second highest single-match total of his career. He saw 15 shots total, with seven on frame, and also had to defend against 11 UCLA corner kicks.
