Colorado high school quarterback Austin Apodaca, Bob Davie has said several times, was among Davie’s first recruiting targets after he accepted the head coaching job at New Mexico in November 2011.
Apodaca, who had committed to Washington State the previous June, chose to honor that commitment and did not sign with UNM out of Silver Creek High in Longmont.
Had he done so, how different might the Lobos’ offense have been the past three seasons?
Apodaca set passing records galore at Silver Creek. In his three varsity seasons, he threw for 7.635 yards, with 81 touchdowns, and completed 63.
